We are excited to announce that version 1.6 of the Mesosphere Datacenter Operating System (DCOS) is now generally available. The latest version introduces a long list of new features, including security improvements and the latest releases of Apache Mesos and Marathon.
Here’s what’s new in DCOS 1.6.
You can easily enable authentication in your datacenter with DCOS Enterprise Edition. Authentication is managed through the DCOS web interface. Authorization is defined by access control lists (ACLs). The Admin Router enforces access control.
New installer provides a rich graphical user interface that guides you through the installation of DCOS Enterprise Edition. With the GUI installer you can interactively install DCOS to a cluster, using a minimal configuration set.
Mesos UI capabilities now in the DCOS web interface
New capabilities in the DCOS web interface allow you to view and download files from any running task, including output and error logs.
DCOS Marathon upgrade
The latest Marathon version 0.15.1 includes many internal improvements and these convenient UI enhancements:
- Perform actions directly from the Applications list. You can now perform common functions – like scale, destroy, and suspend – directly from a contextual dropdown menu.
- Better feedback. Our UI dialogs have been completely redesigned for clarity and usability. Color-coded severity levels are now shown: info, warning and error.
- Application Health. The health status details are now shown in the application details page.
Advanced AWS Templates
New advanced DCOS AWS CloudFormation templates allow you to compose your datacenter deployment.
The Apache Mesos kernel is upgraded to version 0.27.
